After over two years of developing our new musical about the passage of the 19th Amendment, we were fortunate enough to recently execute a 10 hour workshop of the full script and score at Theatre Cedar Rapids in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A cast of sixteen as well as three musicians brought "The Suffragist" to life in new and exciting ways, under the direction of TCR's Artistic Director Angie Toomsen, as well as the musical direction of our composer, Nancy Hill Cobb.
In the last two years we have staged living room readings, workshopped the text with The CRY HAVOC Company in NYC, and used every colleague and resource available to enrich and deepen this very important story about the struggle to achieve women's suffrage in the United States.
